The purpose of this presentation is to provide information on options for States and school districts regarding their implementation of Title I, Part A and other ESEA programs that may use data from the NSLP in cases in which NSLP household application data that ordinarily would have been collected during the 2020-2021 school year were not collected as part of implementing the Nationwide Waiver from USDA.

Michael Anderson

Michael Anderson is an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education where he provides legal advice on a number of Federal education programs. He holds a degree in history from the University of Washington and a law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Prior to law school, he was a public elementary school teacher for seven years. 
Tina Fritz Namian

Tina Fritz Namian is Branch Chief for the School Meals Policy Branch at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service. Tina came to USDA as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2008. She served for five years as the Branch Chief of the Community Meals Policy Branch managing policy issues relating to the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Summer Food Service Program. Since 2015, she has managed policy issues relating to the School Meal Programs. Ms. Namian has over 25 years of experience working on Federal policy issues relating to children, including child nutrition, child welfare, and child labor. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America and a JD from the University of Kentucky
Todd Stephenson

Todd Stephenson is a Management and Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. He works with different aspects of the Title I, Part A program and other programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.
Dean Zajic

Dean Zajic is the State and Federal Programs Coordinator for the Special Education, and Title Services team of the Kansas State Department of Education. Dean helps oversee the Kansas Integrated Accountability System, provides training and technical assistance to Kansas school districts on IDEA and ESEA fiscal requirements, MTSS implementation, blending and braiding of programs, disproportionality analysis, and best practices to achieve results for all students. Dean serves as a board member for the Association of Educational Federal Finance Administrators (AEFFA), is the PresidentElect of the National Association of ESEA Program Administrators (NAESPA), and serves as an expert reviewer for the Center for IDEA Fiscal Reporting (CIFR).
