New Director Development
NAESPA is proud to announce the 2023 New Director Development program designed for State Directors charged with managing their state federal education program with 0-3 years of experience or who are new to their role. The training will be facilitated by Jonas Zuckerman, a former NAESPA President with more than 8 years of experience as an ESEA State Director.
This series is specially designed to provide support for new ESEA State Directors in all aspects of their job, including:
- Content knowledge on the essential aspects of ESEA (statute, regulations, guidance, procedures, etc.);
- Practical application of the knowledge to carry out job responsibilities; and
- Opportunities for networking and problem-solving with peers.
This training is not Title specific, but instead will cover the key aspects for all ESEA Titles, so will be relevant for any State ESEA Title Director. New Directors will be able to ask critical questions and get practical support and guidance both from their peers and from a facilitator with experience in the role.
This series will run for 10 months, beginning in July 2023 and ending in April 2024, and will meet virtually the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM ET, with a couple exceptions when in-person meetings may be facilitated instead. All session recordings and resources will become and remain available to those registered as the series progresses.
